Terms of use
Last updated 17 September 2026
These terms cover the Garden Rescue iPhone app and this website. Using either means you accept them.
What Garden Rescue is
Garden Rescue looks at a photo you take, tells you what it thinks the plant, weed, pest or disease is, and builds a watering, feeding, pruning and mowing plan from that answer. It is a helpful second opinion, not a professional agronomist.
Please read this bit
Photo identification is not always right, and the same plant can get different answers from different photos. Check anything that matters before you act on it, especially before applying a herbicide, pesticide or fertilizer. Always follow the product label and your local rules, and keep children and pets away as the label says. If a plant might be eaten by anyone or any animal, do not rely on Garden Rescue to say whether it is safe.
Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, sign-in codes go to your email address, so keep access to that mailbox. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
Free and Pro
The free version identifies one photo a day and cares for one part of your garden. Garden Rescue Pro removes both limits and adds the weather-aware Smart Plan. Pro is sold as a subscription through the iPhone app: Apple takes the payment, renews it automatically until you cancel, and you cancel or ask for a refund through your Apple account, not through us. Prices and what is included can change; you will see the current terms on the purchase screen before you pay.
Your photos and notes
What you upload stays yours. You give Garden Rescue permission to store it and send it to the services listed in the privacy policy so the app can work. Only upload photos you are allowed to upload, and nothing unlawful or offensive: uploads are checked automatically and rejected when they look inappropriate.
Fair use
Don't attack, scrape or overload the service, don't try to reach other people's scans, and don't resell Garden Rescue's answers as your own product. Identification costs real money per photo, so daily limits apply and we may pause an account that is clearly abusing them.
The garden guide
The guide pages are written from photo identifications. Reference photos come from iNaturalist contributors under open licences and are credited on each page; they belong to their photographers, not to Garden Rescue.
Availability
Garden Rescue depends on outside services for identification, weather and storage. It can be slow or unavailable, and features can change or be withdrawn. We don't promise uninterrupted service.
Liability
Garden Rescue is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damage to a garden, lawn, plants or property that follows advice from the app, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Ending it
Delete your account whenever you like, from Settings in the app or on this site. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless there's a legal reason not to.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Carrying on using Garden Rescue after that means you accept the new terms.
